Concerning the realms of mind and spirit
I must point out that I'm not inclined to judge others for their beliefs,
even if they're very different than mine, but my one big issue is when they
refuse to do me the same courtesy. When some people refuse to respect the beliefs of others
(a tendency which is sadly prevalent among many Christians and almost as many atheists),
I'm inclined to get a bit peevish. I have friends who are Christian, atheist,
agnostic, wiccan, Buddhist, and probably a few other things. I even get along fairly
well with a Satanist or two. (This form of Satanism, for the record, would better be
termed hedonism -- they don't really worship the Christian devil.)
Faith belongs to everyone, in their own hearts and minds, so respect that. Share
your beliefs, but don't push them the way some do drugs or politics.
I once considered myself Christian, but I gave that up a few years ago.
I still find the teachings of Christ rather appealing, though.
Basically, in a word, love. Love your neighbor, your enemy, love everyone. If you're truly motivated by love,
you know you're doing ok. As for believing in God? That's much more complicated.
I have a minor interest in Kabbalism, though I have strong leanings towards some kind of pantheism or
theopanism. I honestly think any religion can be right, as that all depends on what's in the
heart and mind of the individual. As it has been said quite a few times before,
"God is Many and One." Who cares what face s/he wears?
I would like very much to believe in a "God" or "Goddess" in some form, but at the present
time I'm agnostic at best. I really don't want to be an atheist, because a world without "God"
makes me very sad. Unfortunately, it all seems like so much wishful thinking a lot of the time.
One can only hope, I suppose....
1 John 4:7,8:
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone
who loves is born of God and knows God.
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love."
