Television:
My favorite TV show of all time is seaQuest DSV, despite its weaknesses in the
plot department. I love the characters and their interaction, and the first season
actually had some good stories.
Other favorite shows:
Angel,
Batman: The Animated Series (before it sucked),
Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
Danny Phantom,
Firefly,
Justice League: Unlimited,
Kim Possible,
Reboot,
The Simpsons,
Roseanne,
Scrubs,
Star Trek: TNG,
and The Transformers.
I consider Avatar: The Last Airbender one of the best
pieces of American animation ever produced for television.
See below for anime preferences.
Movies:
My favorite movies are probably the original Star Wars trilogy and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
I also love (almost) any John Wayne film;
Batman (1989);
Batman Begins;
Batman: The Dark Knight;
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm;
Big Fish;
Brokeback Mountain;
The Chronicles of Narnia;
Clue;
The Dark Crystal;
Dune (both versions);
From Hell;
Garden State;
Ghostbusters;
the Harry Potter series;
the Indiana Jones series;
Iron Man;
Labyrinth;
Monty Python and the Holy Grail;
Moulin Rouge;
The Neverending Story;
Peter Pan (2003);
The Phantom of the Opera;
the Pirates of the Caribbean series;
The Princess Bride;
The Rocky Horror Picture Show;
Serenity;
The Shawshank Redemption;
Spider-man;
The Sting;
Superman (I and II);
Superman Returns;
To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar;
Transformers: The Movie (1986);
The X-Men films (I and II);
several Disney animated features;
and while there are many more, that is a sampling of some favorites.
It's really getting impossible to keep a proper list!
Anime:
Neon Genesis: Evangelion, Generator Gawl, The Vision of Escaflowne,
and RaXephon are my long-time favorites. More recently, I have added
Kyou Kara Maoh! (AKA God (?) Save Our King) to that list as well.
I also enjoyed (in varying degrees):
Digimon,
The Excel Saga,
Gundam Wing,
His and Hers Circumstances,
Ranma 1/2,
Record of Lodoss War,
Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shōganai! (AKA Sukisho! or I like what I like, so there!),
Video Girl Ai,
and more.
Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle
have been my favorite anime movies, but then I've never seen anything by Hayao Miyazaki
or Studio Ghibli that I haven't enjoyed -- and I've seen quite a bit. (It's worth noting,
Howl's is based on a rather interesting novel, which I have also read.)
